AutoSock snow socks are hardwearing high-tech textile 'snow socks' that you pull over the driving wheels of vehicles that need extra grip in snow and ice.
AutoSock for Trucks are textile 'socks' which you slip over the outer driving wheels when you need extra grip on ice or snow. There's only one possible way to fit them, so no practice is needed. They take a couple of minutes to fit and will self-centre on the tyres as you drive off. AutoSock for Trucks are supplied in pairs, are reusable time and again and, being approximately the size of a folded shirt, are easy to store in the cab all year round for use when required.
The grip is due to dry friction, coupled with the use of high-tech textiles. Testing showed that they are even more effective than winter tyres, including acceleration and braking on ice and snow, and hill starts (they can even be fitted after a vehicle has started wheel spinning on a slope) but they are suitable for short term use only – they’re a “Get out of trouble” solution. Most people are not only surprised but genuinely astonished at the difference they make to general traction, cornering, and braking. They’re approved by the German TÜV, and are compatible with all electronic safety systems, but they are not a substitute for snowchains in countries where snowchains must be carried.
